I am honoured to be appointed Chair of the Examination Board (German: “Prüfungsausschussvorsitzender”) for the Mechatronics study program at the University of Siegen.
Initiated in the fall of 2001, this Master’s Program is an interdisciplinary initiative presented by the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and it is conducted entirely in English. Over the years, it has attracted a global student body, with many graduates achieving success in their fields. While some have advanced to pursue Ph.D. studies, most have entered the professional industry.
Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary field that combines principles from mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and control engineering to design and create innovative products and processes. The core idea of mechatronics is the integration of these disciplines to develop complex systems that are smarter, more versatile, and more efficient than their components would be separately.
