We are glad to welcome Prof. Burggräf as a guest lecturer in our machine learning lecture series. He will give the lecture on Tuesday, the 11th of January 2022, between 10:15 and 11:45 o’clock (German time).

Prof. Burggräf will talk about AI in production. More specifically:

In the guest lecture and exercise by Prof. Burggräf, you will gain a comprehensive insight into the opportunities and potential benefits of using artificial intelligence in production. In addition to a variety of examples of how artificial intelligence can be used profitably in production and how you can identify use cases, you will apply selected machine learning algorithms in MS Azure to an industry-related problem as a course participant.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly important for production and manufacturing industries because it allows for more efficient and effective processes. One of the key benefits of AI in production and manufacturing is the ability to automate repetitive tasks and increase the speed of processes. This not only improves the efficiency of the production line, but also reduces the risk of errors and improves the overall quality of the final product.

AI can also be used to analyze data from production lines and identify patterns and anomalies that would be difficult or impossible for humans to detect. This allows manufacturers to optimize processes and identify areas for improvement, which can lead to cost savings and increased productivity.

Another important aspect of AI in production and manufacturing is the ability to predict and prevent equipment failures. AI-enabled predictive maintenance can analyze sensor data from machines and predict when a failure is likely to occur, allowing manufacturers to schedule maintenance and repairs before a breakdown occurs. This can save significant amounts of time and money in the long run.

AI is also important for production and manufacturing because it can help companies keep up with changing customer demands and stay competitive in the market. By analyzing data from customer interactions, manufacturers can understand their customers’ needs and preferences, and use that information to create new products and services. Additionally, AI-powered automation can help companies scale their production lines to meet changing demand, which enables them to respond quickly to market changes and capitalize on new opportunities.
