Rohan Anand, Automated Recommender Systems based on AutoML
Rohan Anand, working on Automated Recommender Systems (AutoRecSys)

Rohan Anand is a Masters’s student at the School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland and joins our group for the next eight months to conduct his Master Thesis. During his undergraduate program, Rohan published a paper titled BarGain: Crowd-Sourced Machine Learning Integrated E-Commerce. After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at SRM University, Rohan worked as a Full Stack Developer at Freshworks in Chennai, India. His main work involved recognizing and automating user workflows in the Freshsales Customer Relationship Management software.

Rohan is currently working on his Master’s Dissertation provisionally titled “AutoSuprise: Automating Recommender System Workflows”. The project aims to bring the Recommender System community one step closer to automating their workflows. He hope to achieve this by transferring tools and knowledge used for automated machine learning (AutoML) and implement them on the SurpriseLib recommender system library. This will result in an Automated Recommender System Framework (AutoRecSys) where algorithms and hyperparameters are automatically selected.
