Alan Said, chair of the ACM RecSys steering committee, just announced that the ACM Recommender Systems Conference (RecSys) 2027 will take place in Hawaiʻi.
I, Joeran Beel, will serve as General Co-Chair together with Christine Bauer and Bamshad Mobasher. Dates (likely late September) and venue will be announced, at the latest, during ACM RecSys 2026.
Hawaiʻi is a proven host for large-scale computing conferences with robust facilities and logistics. Among many others, UMAP 2010, CIKM 2012, and SIGCHI 2024 took place in Hawai’i. Beyond facilities, Hawaiʻi’s location supports community reach: it provides workable time-zone overlap between the Americas and Asia–Pacific for tutorials, workshops, and hybrid formats.
Program tracks, dates, and the specific venue will follow in a separate announcement. For now, please mark your calendars for 2027 and plan to join us in Hawaiʻi.
As a side note, a final logo is yet to be created. But what do you think of the current drafts?
